The world is entering an era of the new enrgy industry, it has been well received around the world, it has been penetrating into Vietnam as an indispensable rule in the state of the traditional energy resources are gradually depleted.

Solar power is renewable energy, eternal energy, never depleted, especially in Vietnam where there are more hours of sunshine than hours of rain.

What is Solar PV?

A photovoltaic system, also known as a Solar PV power system, or PV system, is a power system designed to supply usable electric power by means of photovoltaics.

It consists solar panels, cables and relevant additional equipment.

The solar PV is suitable for factories, railway stations, terminals (airports), buildings, offices, schools, hospitals, supermarkets, commercial centers, … or houses use a lot of electricity

How does Solar PV work?

Solar panels receive sunlight and convert it into direct current (DC), this DC current will be directed directly to the Inverter. In here, the DC current is transformed into alternating current (AC) by Inverter and supplies power to the consumption loads.

Photovoltaic, or “PV” Solar panels convert some of the energy from the sun into electricity. A typical solar panel contains many individual solar cells. Light hitting the solar cells causes the release of electrons, resulting in a direct current (“DC).

Most solar panels have high durability and lifespan from 25 years to 30 years, but if they encounter extreme weather conditions such as strong winds, intense sunlight, … then them lifespan will be reduced.


Inverter is a frequency converter, it is used to convert low-voltage DC current into high-voltage AC current. Inverter is an advanced technology to control capacity of equipment, to avoid unnecessary energy waste.

Understanding simply, when the equipment needs more energy, Inverter will supply more energy and when the equipment needs less energy, Inverter will supply less energy. Inverter has many types, according to the input power source, we have two basic types:

  • Inverter for 1-phase motor
  • Inverter for 3-phase motors.

Inverter for 3-phase motors are used common than inverter for 1-phase motor.


When the solar power generated is larger than the power of consumption loads, then the excess power will run against the electrical network. Therefore, to ensure your benefits, installing 2-way electric meter is very important for you.

Electric meter is the power meter, it used to measure power consumption. There are two types of electric meter: 1-way electric meter and 2-way electric meter.

2-way electric meter is applied to families, businesses, and there are two types:

  • 2-way electric meter & 1-phase: used to measure electric power in 1-phase alternating current grid. This electric meter will record power consumption in two separate directions (forward and reverse), and accumulate in two separate power-scoring bars.
  • 2-way electric meter & 3-phase: used to measure electric power in two directions of delivering and receiving at 3-phase alternating current grid, and accumulate in separate power-scoring bars.


The grid is the network of power lines that moves electrical energy from where it is produced to where it is used.

Solar PV System Design

A Solar PV system uses PV modules to convert sunlight into electricity. The system can be located anywhere exposed to sunlight, including rooftops, verandas, etc.

Systems are typically connected to the local utility grid to provide additional electricity for users’ daily use.

Most rooftops can be used for PV installations, but the load bearing capacity must meet the panel weight requirements.



Solar energy is free and equally available for everyone in a given location. Using solar PV system will bring the following benefits to customers:

  • Saving electricity cost, in addition, you can sell the surplus electricity to the electricity industry (if installed a large capacity system and connected to the national power lines).
  • For businesses or families used a lot of electricity, solar power will help ease the burden of high-priced electricity.


There is no fuel consumption during power generation, which makes for significant reductions of carbon dioxide emissions, sulfur dioxide emissions, and water consumption compared with coal.

Using solar PV system will be safer and more eco-friendly.
